Meg Young has over a decade of public relations experience, working with two of the industry’s most prestigious beauty agencies, as well as leading the in-house PR efforts for luxury beauty brands Kate Somerville Skincare and Jouer Cosmetics.
After graduating from American University with a degree in Communications, Meg began her career in the beauty department of one of New York City’s top PR agencies, Alison Brod Marketing + Communications. At the age of 26, she was offered the unique opportunity to lead the beauty division at style agency, Bollare Communications. Here, she drove strategy for all of the company's beauty brands, and tripled her client roster in just one year. During her time at these two agencies, she worked on both mainstream brands, such as Nordstrom Beauty and TIGI Haircare, as well as niche brands including Peter Thomas Roth Skincare and ghd hair tools.
After five years on the agency-side, Meg moved to Los Angeles and took the role of PR Director for former client, Jouer Cosmetics. At Jouer and in her most recent role, leading the Public Relations department of Kate Somerville Skincare, Meg alone replaced large agencies and multiple team members. She was tasked to spearhead both brands’ first-ever in-house PR teams. Within a year of Meg taking over the PR efforts, results for both brands more than doubled from that of their previous PR agencies. Meg led both Jouer Cosmetics and Kate Somerville Skincare to year-over-year growth in number of placements, impressions and earned media value – resulting in increased brand awareness and sales. At Kate Somerville, Meg earned “Best in Class PR” for Unilever’s entire prestige beauty portfolio.
Through her years of experience working in New York and Los Angeles, Meg has established a vast network of authentic relationships with top editors, influencers, makeup artists, celebrities, publicists and managers on both coasts. Her reputation in the industry reflects those genuine relationships, as well as her extensive expertise and ability to deliver consistently excellent results. Now, with MyMG, Meg offers in-house quality service and the personalized attention brands need and deserve in order to achieve maximum results.
A native New Yorker, Meg currently resides in Manhattan Beach, California. She most enjoys free time spent with her husband and two young daughters at the beach. Her personal passions indulge her creative side, and include interior design and event planning.
